HKP — the control layer

HKP (Hermes Knowledge Platform) is the layer that holds the rules, knowledge and control of HermesOS. It is what makes AI decisions verifiable and keeps critical actions behind owner approval.

Rules, knowledge and control in one layer

The AI Engine does the work; HKP defines the boundaries it works within. It separates what the AI may decide on its own from what needs confirmation.

  • Trusted sources and confidence levels for conclusions.
  • Approval gates for critical or sensitive actions.
  • Decision history with assumptions and risks recorded.

Why verifiability matters

A useful business answer should show where it came from. With HKP, key conclusions can carry their sources, confidence level and last verification date, so decisions are not taken on blind trust.

Protection from accidental change

Rules, roles, access and integrations are protected configuration. Automations run by the owner’s rules rather than drifting on their own, and production is kept separate from experiments.
